The Youth of Scepters represents those personalities born between November 22 and December 21, the fire sign of Sagittarius, the Centaur.  The Happy-Go-Lucky One, literally, Sag-types are happy AND lucky!  In mythology, centaurs, like satyrs, were notorious for being overly indulgent drinkers and carousers, given to violence when intoxicated and generally uncultured delinquents.  In Greek mythology, however, Chiron, also a centaur, was intelligent, civilized, kind and noted for his knowledge and skill in medicine.

Sagittarius-types can be likened to college students.  They party hardy, are not into the responsibility of a family just yet, possess the optimism of youth, and never want to graduate or grow up or even go to sleep because they’re having too much fun.  They’re boastful and cheerful, independent, flirtatious, and dislike being confined to their dorm rooms or anywhere else, all while pursuing a higher education and relishing in the exchange of ideas.  Given the opportunity, they would love to drive fancy cars, travel the world, eat at up-scale restaurants, and gamble like there’s no tomorrow.  And yet, they are always looking far into the future knowing that someday, years and years from now when they’re finally grown up, they will probably want to settle down and apply themselves to something, but not necessarily a family.  They generally love the outdoors and sports.

Their best qualities are that they make loyal friends and mates, once in a relationship, and they are even-tempered.  Their worst qualities are that they like to tease people, and they are blunt and tactless.  They have the foot-in-mouth disease!  Because Sagittarius also rules extended travel, import/export, and careers involved in travel, this card could also represent someone who is foreign-born.

If the Youth of Scepters should turn up in a reading right-side-up, it represents a man with this type of personality.  If it should appear upside down, it represents a woman with the same personality type.
