The Six of Coins

The mundane key phrase for the Six of Coins is A SOCIAL EVENT.  Other mundane interpretations might be:

Profit from social affairs

Reward through humanitarian activities

Merger for Money

Creative partnership for profit

Gain through original ideas

The inner astrological meaning of the Six of Coins is based upon the Libra decanate of Aquarius, and the keyword is REPRESSION.  This feeling of being suppressed, put down, shut up, oppressed, and otherwise overtaken and not allowed to express oneself openly and freely, often turns up in marital relationships, particularly in those marriages that are not based on love but are subservient to material ambitions.  Denying true love in the name of social status or economic security leads to a solitary and lonely existence that can only weaken the soul and thereby lead to a path of destruction.  We see this happening in the tabloids and elsewhere in our lives every day.

The spiritual message of the Six of Coins is the same, but to better understand it, we can look to the sea creature of mythology, Cetus. Because it is the emotions or feelings that  determine whether there is harmony or discord, and because water symbolizes the emotions,  the ancients depicted the concept of discord as a denizen of the deep. Cetus is a distortion of a whale in the heavens, and its size is commensurate with the importance of influence it represents as the largest of all the constellations.  There are many sources of discord in human life, but the marital decanate of Aquarius makes it clear that it is within a marital relationship that the best opportunity for discord exists.  Zain explains in Spiritual Astrology that husbands and wives are so closely associated that the thought and emotional energies of each other that they find ready access to their partner’s astral body. Avoiding marriage does not preclude discord, however, because the basic urge for reproduction is so strong in normal life that an attempt to stifle it commonly leads to Repression.  If marriage is to be beneficial, the energy exchange must be harmonious.  Hence the (spiritual) text is:  The monster which demands the sacrifice of the fairest youths of the land is Discord in marriage.  __C.C.
