The Ace of Coins esoteric meaning is derived from the constellation Serpens, in the sign of Libra- decanate of Libra, ruled by Venus.  This constellation is pictured in the heavens as a serpent about to strike and represents where the summer and winter signs join in marriage.  The theme of positive and negative forces joining to create action is repeated over and over again throughout the Tarot, and this is another example.  Because there are 186 days in summer, the season of light and knowledge, and fewer days, 179, in winter, the season of darkness and ignorance, the tug and pull of these extremes will favor summer, or the action of evolving.  The serpent will often lift his head skyward to a plane above his body.  Near Serpen’s head, is a spiral loop indicating creative powers and evolution.  The loop near its tail suggests a retrogressive use of creative energy.  Again, the message is that progressive evolution is the result of the pull exerted by extremes, always striving toward the light.  The spiritual text or exoteric meaning for this card is:  “In matters of philosophy and in matters of action the true course usually lies somewhere between advocated extremes.”  The key word for the esoteric meaning is POLICY. Another key word that has worked for the writer is Temperate.    What key words would you choose?
